Officials from the Jembrana Public Civil Service Office have seized several ID cards from unvaccinated residents in Jembrana.
The Head of the Jembrana Public Civil Service, I Made Leo Agus Jaya confirmed that during a recent inspection his officers have seized a total of 5 ID cards from residents who have not received a single dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Jaya also said that this operation targeted temporary residents who have recently moved to the Jembrana region as newcomers.
He explained that this operation was initiated to anticipate any potential criminal activity that has surged since the Covid-19 pandemic struck in Bali. “The number of temporary residents that moved to several boarding houses in Lelateng Village, Jembrana has increased, so we decided to conduct an inspection as a preventative step in avoiding any potential illegal activity in the area.” Made Jaya said Monday (1/11).
During the operation, Jaya seized ID cards from 5 unvaccinated residents and instructed them to visit the nearby vaccination sites to receive their Covid-19 vaccine. Apart from that, he also instructed them to register themselves as temporary residents to the local village officials. “We seized their ID’s and told them to visit the nearest medical facility and receive their vaccine as soon as possible.” Made Jaya concluded.

I am worried about you Bali. You seem to be abandoning your constitutional republic and slipping more and more towards a much more restrictive totalitarian society.

@Mike A, with all the news coming from Bali at the moment, I share your concerns: Covid has turned things into a very controlled state, and I wonder if this will have longer lasting effects - it is very hard to get rid of an overly controlling government that is very comfortably making profit out of a miserable situation.
