Increased Security As Domestic Tourists Crowd In Temples And Local Attractions In Bali

Tourist attractions across Bali have received an influx of domestic tourists since the start of the new year.

The regional government is actively monitoring tourist activity to sustain safe travel amidst the pandemic.

Spiritual sites in Bali were packed with domestic tourists to celebrate the last day of the Nataru Holiday this Saturday (03/01).

To maintain safety amidst heavy tourist traffic, officers were deployed at the access points of busy temples like Ulun Danu Batur Temple.

Visitors were asked to wash their hands before entering.

On duty officers enforced protocols such as mask wearing and social distancing during the prayer ceremonies.

Tourist attractions in Gianyar also received an influx of domestic visitors.

Since the year-end holiday, visits at the Bali Zoo increased by 50%.

This was revealed by the zoo spokesman, AA Ngurah Alit Sujana, stating “Holiday visitors continue to arrive at the park. It’s going to be busy until this Sunday”.

Meanwhile, the Nusa Dua and Mandalika Bali were among the top destinations for domestic tourists this holiday season, especially since they offered and advertised lower prices for hotel and resort stays.

The Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) continues to implement strict guidelines outlined by the Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf). 

The regional government is prioritizing strict implementation of safety and prevention protocols this holiday season in efforts to resume international travel.
