Garuda Airlines will be providing one direct flight a week from Bali to Hong Kong to move over 30 tons of local products to help stimulate the economy.
The new program started on Saturday Nov 7th, 2020. On the first flight, they have transported around 30 tons of fishery products and other natural resources from Bali.
Garuda Airlines has committed to provide a direct flight to Hong Kong every Saturday using their Airbus A330-300 with the capacity of 30 to 40 tons on each flight.
This special flight will depart every week at 7:00 am will arrive in Hong Kong at around 12:00 am.
President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra said that this program has been initiated to open a business opportunity between Bali and Hong Kong as business partners in the future.
The program is in line with the thriving cargo business that Garuda Indonesia has been aiming to tap into.
“I hope that this program will open the door to the international market for Bali to export local commodities such as fishery products, plantation and livestock from Bali to accelerate the financial recovery of the economy” Irfan said on Saturday Nov 7th 2020.
The program has been initiated between Garuda Indonesia and the Bali Governor, I Wayan Koster to support the export of Bali commodities to compete in the international market by using a direct flight.
This will give the ability to deliver fresh and high quality products with the low logistic costs. “I urge the people to take advantage of this program to boost our economic growth, especially the low and middle class businesses” Koster said in a press conference.
