Bali’s Ubud may not be the island’s most famous nightlife destination, but the arts and culture capital can give the big party resorts a run for their money.
Here at The Bali Sun, we love a night out in Ubud, and this New Year’s Eve, there is so much going on, it’s low-key hard to decide where to spend the big night!

The biggest New Year’s Eve celebration in Ubud this year is Alegria Bali Festival. In years gone by, this celebration has been hosted at Zest Ubud.
For the countdown to 2026, the Alegria team has pulled out all the stops, and the event is bigger and better than ever before. So much bigger, in fact, that the festival has moved to a bigger venue.
This year, Alegria Bali Festival will be held at none other than Bambu Indah. The festival will be held over 33 hours, on 31st December and the 1st January, so party-goers can soak up the joy long into New Year’s Day.
The Alegria team shares, “Across three immersive stages, artists from around the globe and the Indonesian archipelago guide us through a journey of rhythm and frequency. From tribal soul to cosmic beats, sacred songs to deep basslines, Alegría becomes a space where celebration turns into ceremony, music becomes devotion, and dance becomes a shared ritual of connection and remembrance.”
Alegria has outdone itself with the lineup this year. Welcoming to the stage some of the world’s best musicians, attendees can expect intimate performances and immersive workshops from AWARË, Mose, Share, Ape Chiba, Chantress Seba, Amenti, Facesoul, Afrosideral, Nadav Dragon, and local world-music superstar Cater Hari Wijaya.
As an alcohol-free, family-friendly festival, this is an event that promises to welcome the New Year with an energy of balance and joy. Tickets are available via the official festival website and Megatix, with single-day passes starting at IDR 2,500,000.
Tourists looking for a party in Ubud this New Year’s Eve, where the drinks will be flowing, and the music turned up to 11, it has to be the iconic The Blue Door. There are two fantastic ticket options for party lovers this New Year’s Eve at The Blue Door.
The first option includes a 3-course dinner with access to the party with live bands and DJs, for IDR 725,000. The second option sees party-goers enjoy 2 hours of free-flow drinks for IDR 495,000.

Over this festive week, The Blue Door is celebrating the seasons with its “not so silent nights.” With live music from local performers and live DJ sets every night this week, it’s a guaranteed good time. Table reservations are highly advised.
No mention of a big night out in Ubud, however intimate a vibe you may be after, would be complete without No Más.

This iconic cocktail bar in the heart of Ubud may be small, but the vibes are out of this world. This New Year’s Eve, No Más will be sending 2025 off in style.
The team has shared, “We bring the noise, you bring the vibe — and together we turn NYE 2025 into pure, electrifying chaos in the best way. One stage. Two forces. Zero chill. We’re cranking the amps, dropping the beats, and blowing past midnight like it’s nothing. If you’re ready to start the year loud, wild, and unstoppable — this is your night.”

With doors opening at 5 pm, the party will kick off early this year. Live music will get started around 8 pm, and this promises to be one of the best parties in Ubud this year. No ticket necessary, but No Más is filled to the brim with party lovers even on a normal Friday and Saturday night…get there early is our advice!

The important information to tourists is to warn about boat trips now during rainy season.
Out of a family of six Spanish citizens, four (one adult and three children) are now missing after a tourist boat sank inside Komodo national park waters. The boat sank after engine failure in rough seas (up to 3 meter waves). All of the crew survived this tragedy.
Again, people need to understand that many Indonesian captains are trained on the job. A bad and unsafe captain will therefore leave behind generations with bad and unsafe captains. They will do whatever they can to avoid a situation having to refund tourists for non trip.
This boat should never have been in this area if 3 meter waves.
"With lax safety standards and problems with overcrowding, accidents occur frequently in Indonesia."
