Swab Tests Of Suspected Omicron Sent From Bali To Jakarta For Analysis

Five swab test samples from suspected Omicron patients in Jembrana will be transported to Jakarta.

The Head of the Jembrana Health Agency, I Gusti Bagus Ketut Oka Parwata, confirmed that the swab test results of five suspected Omicron patients in Jembrana were transported to the Research and Development Department of the Indonesian Health Minister (Balitbangkes) in Jakarta.

Officials detected a low Cycle Threshold (CT) value in the results, potentially indicating Omicron transmission.

“We will wait for the genome sequencing results from the central government. We hope they won’t be the Omicron variant,” Parwata said.

Parwata initiated the transport of the samples, as Bali medical facilities do not have the equipment to conduct the Whole Genome Sequencing method.

Parwata reminds the people to be mindful of health protocols to avoid a surge in Omicron transmission, though it was proven to be less lethal than the Delta variant.

“We need to anticipate transmission to avoid another surge of Covid-19 cases in the region,” he concluded.

Omicron is nothing but a simple Cold, fever and headache, a couple of aspirin and homemade chicken soup and bedrest for 2 days will fix it.

@Heinz Schirmaier, should be only understood as minimization or down playing of truly risks and consequences.

@Heinz Schirmaier, yeah if you are fully vaccinated and boosted. Don't forget that a scratchy or a sore throat is the first sign of a symptom. Isolation for 5 to 7 days if tested positive for covid -19.
