Stunning Beachfront Bali Resort Wins Best New Hotel In 2026 At Tourism Awards

As top destinations go, Sanur is home to a fantastic collection of hotels, and one very special resort has just been named the Best Hotel in Indonesia 2026. 

The Meru Sanur has just been named Tatler Asia’s Best New Hotel in Indonesia in 2026. The Meru confirmed the win via social media, sharing, “We are proud to share a remarkable milestone at the prestigious Tatler Best Indonesia 2026.”

The hotel shared “Honored as Best-in-Class “Best New Hotel” and “20 Best Hotels in Indonesia”; this recognition reflects our commitment to wellness, thoughtful design, and the genuine Indonesian hospitality we extend to every guest. Each accolade represents a purposeful journey where luxury is not only experienced, but truly felt.”

The glitzy awards ceremony was hosted at neighboring Bali Beach Convention Centre and awarded hotels, restaurants, and bars from around Asia. In the Indonesia category, bars, hotels, and restaurants from around Bali made it into prominent positions.

The Best 20 Hotels in Indonesia 2026, as awarded by Tatler Asia, included eleven properties in Bali. While The Meru was named as the Best New Hotel, iconic, multi-award-winning hotels have their efforts recognised once more in 2026.

Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Alila Villas Uluwatu, Padma Resort Ubud, Bvlgari Resort Bali, Capella Ubud, The Apurva Kempinski Bali, Desa Potato Head, The Meru Sanur, Four Seasons Resorts Bali at Jimbaran Bay, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, and The St Regis Bali Resort all made the top twenty list for 2026.

The Best in Class for Hotels has strong Bali placements, too. Hotel of the Year in Indonesia was awarded to Bvlgari Resort, while Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, was noted for Best Hotel Spa. Best innovation of course was won by Desa Potato Head, with Best Family Hotel going to Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bali. 

The Best 20 Restaurants in Indonesia in 2026, as announced by Tatler Asia at the awards ceremony, also features some of Bali’s must-visit eateries.

Aperitif Bali, Cuca Bali, Locavore NXT, Home by Chef Wayan, Mauri, Nusantara, Room4Dessert, Rumari, Santanera, and Sycro BASÈ have all earned their place on the prestigious list. 

Of course, no rundown of the award winners would be complete without highlighting one of the most competitive categories, Best 20 Bars in Indonesia 2026.

As Tatler Asia explained, “we unveil an unranked list of 20 standout bars that define our bar scene today. These are the places pushing standards, preserving heritage, and setting the tone for what great hospitality in Indonesia looks like right now.”

Winners in Bali include Ambar, The Night Rooster, Potato Head, Segno Bali, and The Sayan House.

While Bali’s nightlife scene is thriving, when it comes to cocktails, Jakarta is really pushing the bar, though Bali is providing plenty of competition, and it surely won’t be too long until the top twenty features even more names from the Island of the Gods.

These awards all go to show Bali remains not only one of the most in-demand travel destinations for its culture and natural wonders but also for its world-class hospitality and innovation in the sector.
