A 40-year-old man named I Nyoman Wiradarma will potentially face 20 years of imprisonment for drug trafficking in Bali.

The Prosecutor, Siti Sawiyah, confirmed that Wiradarma would potentially face long jail time. He was working as a security guard and had gotten involved in a drug trafficking business in Bali.

“In accordance to Article 114 Number (2) and Article 112 Number (2) of Narcotics Constitution, the defendant potentially faces 20 years of imprisonment for drug trafficking,” Sawiyah said on Thursday (14/12).

Wiradarma was previously arrested from his home in Jalan Mekar Sari, South Kuta on August 27th 2021. During the arrest, the police seized two packages of drugs from his house. “The defendant admitted that he bought the package for USD $56 (IDR 800,000) from a man named Gede Sawangga, who is a fugitive,” said the prosecutor.

Sawangga also instructed Wiradarma through a WhatsApp chat to take a package of meth weighing 991 grams to the Bea and Cukai Housing Complex located in Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai Kuta, Badung.
