Tourists looking for cultural immersion in Bali during this high season should make a trip to the north of the island.

From June 24th to 27th, tourists are invited to enjoy LovFest, the biggest festival event of the year, in the popular coastal retreat of Lovina.

The Buleleng Tourism Office is preparing to host the biggest event of the year in Lovina. LovFest is an annual celebration of modern and traditional culture in the North of Bali, and this year, it is bigger and better than ever.

Previously, the festival was held over just three days, but in 2025, the team decided to add an extra day of programming, and there is so much to experience.

The Head of the Tourism Office for Buleleng, Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara, told reporters that the festival will also be spread across the Lovina Beach area to help showcase more of what the area offers.

Askara shared, “The places will also have points that are close to each other. The first point is at Binaria Lovina Beach Kalibukbuk Village, and the second point is at Tasik Madu Beach in the Kaliasem Village area.”

The free-to-attend event will showcase the best of North Bali’s cultural heritage. One of the highlights will be the opening ceremony, which will feature the Panyembrama Dance performed by over 500 local dancers. In addition to art exhibitions, live art demonstrations, fashion shows, and dance performances, the festival program will also showcase the best of Buleleng Regency’s natural heritage.

Askara explained, “We will also hold a sailing and fishing competition to enliven the festival. Later, the participants will be our fishermen in Buleleng; we collaborate with the Food and Fisheries Resilience Service.”

Askara and his team hope that the event will attract more visitors than ever. They noted that Bali locals, domestic and international tourists, are all encouraged to come and join in the fun next week.

He told reporters “The target is not only to increase the number of visits but also to increase the stay of tourists, especially foreign tourists. During the 4 days of the event, we also hope that there will be an increase in the number of 15-30,000.”

Lovina Festival is set to be the highlight of the events calendar in Buleleng Regency this high tourist season, but for those who won’t be in Bali between 24th and 27th June for the event, there are still plenty of opportunities to connect with Bali’s exceptional, unique culture.

The Panyembrama Dance at Lovina Festival is a true spectacle to behold, and it is highly recommended that visitors to Bali find a way to observe such a show if they have never experienced a big cultural dance, parade, or performance before.

This high season Ulun Danu Beratan Temple will be hosting a mesmerising Gebogan Parade every day. For tourists who want to learn more about Balinese culture and its multitudes a visit to Ulun Danu Beratan ticks all the boxes.
