Travel within Southeast Asia is about to get more exciting. Vietnam Airlines has just announced that it will launch a round-trip service between Ho Chi Minh City and Bali’s Denpasar.

The news comes as both destinations are in top rankings as some of the best global travel destinations in 2025.

From 1st June 2025 jet setters will be able to travel directly between Bali and Ho Chi Minh City with Vietnam Airlines. The service will operate on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, connecting two of Asia’s most in-demand travel destinations right now.

This new route will be the airline’s second service between Vietnam and Indonesia, bringing its weekly flight services to fourteen.

From July, the service between Ho Chi Minh City and Denpasar will increase to a daily offering. The service will be operated by an Airbus A321 offering top-level safety and comfort for passengers.

In 2024 over 800,000 passengers traveled between Indonesia and Vietnam, an increase of 61% from pre-pandemic figures. As Bali is on track to yet again smash its tourism targets and for 2025 to be the busiest year on record for travel, the new Ho Chi Minh – Bali service is anticipated to be in high demand.

The new service providers Bali lovers with the perfect layover for travel to Vietnam’s hottest beach vacation destination Phu Quoc. Touted as the Hawaii of Vietnam, Phu Quoc is proving to be one of the most in-demand beach vacation hotspots in the world right now.

The new Vietnam Airlines flight service will enable holidaymakers and backpackers to create a culturally diverse beachfront vacation with more ease than ever. In fact, Phu Quoc is currently recorded to be the fifth-fastest growing destination in all of Southeast Asia.

Tourists will be able to fly from Bali to Ho Chi Minh, layover for a day or so to soak in the wonders of the economic heart of Vietnam, before hopping on a quick and affordable 1-hour flight to Phu Quoc; or vice versa!

The new flight services between Vietnam and Indonesia come as no surprise after the two nations’ national carriers committed to strengthening cooperation back in October 2024.

Vietnam Airlines and Indonesia’s national carrier Garuda Indonesia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand its strategic partnership through joint marketing campaigns, expanding codeshare agreements, as well as explore joint services such as aircraft leasing, ground services, technical maintenance, and cargo operations.
