New 3-Stop Tour Package Connects Bali Tourists To New Travel Hotspots

A new package tour for Bali tourists is now up and running. The 3B’s Tour has been in the pipeline for a little over a year and connects tourists with North Bali, West Bali, and Banyuwangi in East Java.

The tour’s idea is to help tourists access less-visited areas of Bali Province and strengthen connections between Bali and Java.

Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, says the tour is already in high demand. Speaking in a public meeting on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025, Minister Ni Luh shared, “Banyuwangi already has a strong name and promotion.”

“Currently, South Bali is already crowded, so distribution to other areas is needed. We hope that these two areas can strengthen each other.”

She confirmed that plans are already being made to expand the program and build more capacity to support more tourists joining the tour.

Minister Ni Luh added, “We have discussed it up to the technical level. The fast boat is expected to smooth connectivity. Indeed, there are still infrastructure constraints in the Bali region, so this meeting also aims to find solutions so that the program can be implemented immediately.”

Speaking in the meeting, the Regent of Banyuwangi, Ipuk Fiestiandani, thanked the Ministry of Tourism for their support in developing and deepening the connections between Bali and Java.

Regent Fiestiandani shared, “We hope that the 3B Tour Package can advance tourism in each region and distribute tourists from Banyuwangi to West Bali and North Bali, and vice versa.” Adding “This could be a blessing for our tourism and economy. Banyuwangi is ready to synergize.”

The idea for the 3B’s Tour was first proposed by the previous Minister for Tourism, Sandiaga Uno.

Speaking at the announcement of the program in September 2024, Uno told reporters “It offers rich attractions in terms of natural beauty and culture, supported by abundant culinary experiences. I am confident that the 3B tour package will be a hit, as Banyuwangi has complete tourism potential.”

Bali has a wealth of natural and cultural wonders to explore, but with so much on offer for tourists in the central south of the island, the vast majority of tourists never leave Badung Regency.

Badung Regency is home to tourism resorts like Canggu, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua and Seminyak. Yet, Bali is divided into nine regencies, each offering their own unique cultural heritage and natural landscape to explore.

Buleleng Regency and Jembrana Regency, which cover much of the west and north of Bali province, are the areas least visited by international tourists.

There are hopes that the 3Bs Tour will showcase all that North and West Bali has to offer, from the wild dolphins of Lovina Beach to the cascading waterfalls of Munduk, to the tranquility of the Twin Lakes and the untouched beauty of West Bali National Park.

Banyuwangi and East Java have a lot to offer tourists too. Most famous for being home to Mount Ijen, the fiery blue volcano and sulfur caldera lake that feels like something out of a fairytale.

Tourists do not need to take part in an organized 3B’s Tour to experience the magic of these three destinations for themselves. Part of the effort to better connect these two areas has also meant that transportation connections are improving too.

A new fast boat service will be opened connecting Gilimanuk and Banyuwangi. Confirming the launch of the new service in April 2025, the Regent of Jembrana, Made Kembang Hartawan, told reporters, “This speedboat will only take 15 minutes to cross to Banyuwangi or vice versa. This will be very efficient both for the public and for tourists.”

He added, “Hopefully this plan can be realized soon. This will also be one of our sources of regional original income (PAD).”

Visit Ijen?

According to google review: 1. New entrance fee is 150k for foreigners. 2. Need to pay 50k for "health certificate" from a doctor. 3. Need to register & book at a web site mostly in Indonesian. 4. Payment only using QR code which do not support foreign cards.
