A fatal accident involving two motorcycles on the intersection of Jalan Mahendradata and Jalan Soputan, Denpasar occurred early Sunday morning (10/1).

The collision occurred at 2:00am, resulting in the instant loss of 22-year-old Kadek Agus, and injuries to a 16-year-old (initials BP) who maintained consciousness as he was rushed to the hospital.
According to police investigation and information from on-site witnesses, Agus was headed north on Jalan Mahendradata road when he began drifting his vehicle into the opposite lane facing oncoming traffic.

The Head of Denpasar Traffic Accident Police, Officer Tiviasih said that the incident was caused by the negligence of Agus while driving his motorcycle.
“At the same time BP was riding his motorbike from the opposite direction, he was stunned to see an oncoming vehicle headed for collision. He couldn’t avoid Agus who had already lost control of his bike,” Tiviasih said.

Both victims were rushed to Sanglah Public Hospital for medical attention, however Agus died at the scene due to severe head injury.
Officers warned drivers to avoid speeding and carelessness on the road to prevent a fatal accident that could cost a life.
