More Bali Tourism Task Force Officers could be coming to the streets of Bali. As the island is set to welcome more than 7 million international tourists in 2026, leaders are working around the clock to ensure tourists’ safety and ensure that all foreigners on the island are obeying the law.

The mission of the Tourism Task Force is two-fold. The first is to ensure the safety and comfort of tourists in Bali, and the second is to ensure that all foreigners are obeying Indonesian law and respecting Balinese culture.
The Tourism Task Force has been in operation for over a year, and is a different team from the Bali Immigration Task Force Team, which is specifically on patrol, focusing on immigration related violations.
The Bali Provincial Civil Service Police, known as Satpol PP, is calling for more Tourism Task Force Units to be established and deployed across the top tourism resort areas.
The calls were conveyed by Head of Bali Satpol PP I Dewa Nyoman Rai Dharmadi, who was accompanied by the Head of the Civil Service Resources Division (SDA) of Bali Satpol PP, Made Sugiantara at the Bali Satpol PP Office, on Wednesday, 18th February.
According to data from the Bali Tourism Office, there are 471 tourist destinations in Bali that require continuous supervision from the authorities and preventive surveillance approaches.
At the moment, the Bali Province team has 30 personnel, with a further 39 officers working especially in Badung Regency, which is home to top resorts like Uluwatu, Canggu, Seminyak, Legian, and Kuta. Buleleng Regency in North Bali also has a unit of 12 personnel.
In total, this amounts to just 81 Tourism Task Force Officers working across Bali Province. This leaves busy areas like Denpasar City, Gianyar Regency, Klungkung Regency, and other regencies without available officers or dedicated units.
Dharmadi explained to reporters that from the perspective of the Satpol PP, the Tourism Task Force Units are now crucial as part of efforts to create a sense of security and comfort at tourist destinations.

He explained, “In addition to enforcing regulations, the Tourism Police also prioritizes a persuasive and preventative approach. All regencies and cities have tourism potential. We hope this Tourism Task Force function will be part of the packaging and branding that the government presents in tourist destinations.”
He added, “We hope that the seven district/city Satpol PP units that haven’t yet formed one can be encouraged to do so. This is because of the even distribution of tourist destinations in Bali. According to data from the Tourism Office, there are a total of 471 tourist destinations spread throughout Bali. All districts and cities have tourism potential.”

The Bali Satpol PP is currently hosting a three-day training program for the Tourism Task Force Officers who are already on the job. The Head of Apparatus Resources (SDA) of Bali Satpol PP, I Made Sugiantara, told reporters that he wants to ensure officers have more training to help support them in their work, and be of value to both tourist and local communities.
He explained, “We want Tourism Task Force members not only to obtain a certificate for 20 hours of study, but also to be able to reach destinations, explore potential disturbances to public order and security, and report them to the parent organization.”

Over the next year, tourists visiting Bali’s top tourism attractions and resort areas may encounter Tourism Task Force Officers out on a patrol.
These officers are on hand to answer questions, respond to safety and security concerns, and to provide peace of mind to tourists on vacation.
Officers have been encouraged to be proactive in their approach and often stop tourists for a friendly chat while they are out on patrol.
