This ensures you always have a safety reference point rather than an empty score.

We utilize browser fingerprinting and IP limiting to prevent mass-voting or “review bombing.” Each user is limited to one vote per destination per timeframe. While no crowd-sourced tool is immune to all manipulation, our Signal Confidence meter (the bars at the top of the tool) indicates how much data backs up the score. Low data = Lower confidence.

Government advisories are diplomatic tools that assess broad, long-term risks (like terrorism or kidnapping). They rarely capture the day-to-day reality of tourism zones. A city might be “Level 4: Do Not Travel” due to events in a remote province, while the tourist center is perfectly calm. Our tool captures the Tourist Experience, not the geopolitical one.
