A Mexican tourist that was heavily intoxicated threw himself in front of a speeding car in Denpasar on Tuesday night.
Residents witnessed the victim Jorge Alejandro walking alone when he suddenly jumped in front of a speeding car. He was thrown into the air and landed hard on the concrete.
Head of Denpasar police Dewa Sayoga said the Mexican man’s action was unsettling for the surrounding community, as well as the motorist who hit the man.
“We secured the man because it was troubling,” explained Dewa Sayoga, Wednesday (2/26) afternoon. The man allegedly jumped in front of the vehicle because of being heavily intoxicated at the time.
Residents who saw the incident reported it to us. So we investigated. “He was very drunk and stressed he said,” added Sayoga.
The man was sent to Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar where doctors discovered that he had shattered one of his leg bones in the accident.
“We will coordinate with the Mexican Consulate General in Denpasar for further handling,” said Dewa Sayoga.
