Man Arrested For Attempting To Assault Jogger On Seminyak Beach

A 23-year-old man named Noven Ashari from West Sumatra has been arrested for attempting to sexually assault a jogger on Double Six Beach in Seminyak.

The Head of the Kuta Criminal Investigation Bureau, Iptu Made Putra Yudistira confirmed that officers from Kuta Police Department began their investigation after receiving a report from a woman (aged 22) regarding the incident that occurred on Double Six Beach on Friday evening (18/6).

The incident started when the victim decided to end her exercise on Friday evening on Double Six Beach. When she was about to go home, the suspect attempted to approach the victim by trying to start a communication. “When the suspect spotted the victim, he approached her and tried to start a conversation. But the victim tried to ignore the suspect as she doesn’t know him personally.” Iptu Yudistira said.

Becoming angry, the suspect began to choke the victim and attempted to sexually assault her. Fortunately, the victim managed to escape from the suspect and immediately ran to the Kuta Police Department to file a report about the incident that caused her to suffer a minor injury on her face and feel traumatized. “The suspect was finally arrested from the same location of the incident in Seminyak on Friday (25/6).” Iptu Yudistira added. Other than his attempt to sexually assault the victim, the suspect also admitted that he had also strangled and slammed the victim to the ground when she attempted to resist. The suspect is being detained at the Kuta Police Department for further investigation.
