Kintamani Bali Will Rapid Test Tourists Before Entering Area

Kintamani Bali is random testing tourists visiting the area over the long weekend to prevent a new cluster of COVID-19.

The Head of Bangli Police Department, AKBP I Gusti Agung Dhana Aryawan said that officers are anticipating the influx of domestic tourists this weekend and will be monitoring every tourist attraction to prevent crowds.

“We will do rapid tests for random tourists, especially those who don’t follow the health protocols” Dhana Aryawan said.

Police said they will be disciplining visitors who aren’t following the prevention protocols while visiting the area.

There will also be medical staff equipped with protective gear in several locations across Kintamani in case of medical emergencies and to perform rapid tests as needed.

“We will implement testing to random people to ensure that this area will stay clear of virus transmission” Dhana Aryawan added.

Several agencies are involved in virus reduction for the area over the weekend including police, military Civil Service Police and the Health Agency Tourism agencies.

The Head of Bangli Public Relations Officer, AKP Sulhadi said that the prevention program was started right after the morning briefing on Wednesday Oct 28th 2020.

They began the operation that morning by performing rapid tests on several tourists in the Penelokan area that resulted in non-reactive results.
