The Head of the Bali Law and Human Rights Ministry, Jamaruli Manihuruk, confirmed that they decided to deport the suspect even though he had finished serving his prison sentence for committing several violations during his stay in Bali.

“The man was officially deported from Bali on Monday (28/3) at 2:30pm with Scoot Airlines,” Jamaruli said on Thursday (31/3).

The police arrested Rayan in December 2020 for the possession of meth and firearms, including pistols, an assault rifle, and dozens of ammunition.

“In accordance with the decision from the Judges, the suspect was charged with 1 year and 4 months imprisonment,” Jamaruli added.

After finishing his sentence in Bangli Narcotics Prison Class II on March 24th 2022, Rayan was transported to the immigration office to begin his deportation process.

Rayan may also be banned from entering Indonesia for the rest of his life. “The Directorate General of Immigration might consider banning him from entering Indonesia due to his violations,” Jamaruli concluded.

Hopefully he didn’t get Covid or another disease in jail. - Perhaps he will write a book, and, or, do a movie that will help him to find a right path through his further life.

His name does not sound French at all. Whatever it is good riddance regardless...Where is he heading on Scoot to Singapore? There is another mentally disabled person on death row who lost his appeal from getting hanged in Singapore.

1 year 4 months for meth and weapons? He should have had to spend 10 years and a daily caning. Officials need to discourage scum like this with very harsh sentencing. 1 year is a "slap on the wrist".

@J West, can’t do this to foreigners from liberal countries. - For example, for somebody from Texas it’s common to have firearms, or for somebody from some other parts of the world it’s common to use some kinds of narcotics. In The Netherlands it’s common to smoke joints and eat cannabis cakes in there coffee shops in Amsterdam since decades ago. For possession of those things he would perhaps get nothing in Europe or perhaps a money fine. Reeducation is nearly impossible, especially not if they come as tourists from such countries.
