Expat Who Broke Hindu Prayer’s Attribute In 2019 Finally Arrested

A Danish National named Lars Christensen has finally been arrested by police after allegedly kicking a Hindu prayer’s attribute over 1.5 years ago.

The Head of the Buleleng Criminal Investigation Bureau, AKP Yogie Pramagita confirmed that the suspect was proven guilty, and the case has been handed over to the prosecutor to continue the trial process. “The investigation of this case is finished, and the prosecutor from the Buleleng District Attorney has taken over the case to begin their trial process.” AKP Yogie said.

Lars was previously recorded by a witness named Ni Luh Sukerasih when he attempted to kick a prayer attribute that belongs to a villager named Jro Gede that is located in Kalibukbuk Village, Buleleng in December 2019. Shortly after, Sukerasih filed a report to the police department regarding the incident by showing the video tape of Lars attempting to break a prayer attribute by kicking it. After knowing that he was reported by Sukerasih, Lars decided to file a lawsuit against Sukerasih for violating the Information and Electronic Transaction Constitution by recording an event without his permission to the Buleleng Police Department.

At the police station, Lars admitted that he kicked that prayer attribute because he thought that nobody was using the attribute anymore due to its poor condition.  “I didn’t know that I wasn’t allowed to do something like that there.” Lars said. He also said that he already replaced the existing prayer attribute with a new one after the incident. The prosecutor explained that Lars will possibly face 7 years and 8 months of imprisonment for violating two different constitutions.
