Demand For Bali’s Most Luxurious Beach Resort Is Soaring

Share The Article

Bali is a travel destination famous for its incredible range of resorts to choose from.

Whether tourists want a classic coastal getaway in Kuta, a cultural retreat in Ubud, or a family vacation in Sanur, there is a destination for everyone in Bali.

One destination, however, has drastically grown in interest this year so far.

Nusa Dua is famous for being the most luxurious resort in Bali.

The coastal resort is home to some of the most expensive and exclusive hotels on the island and is the destination of choice for world leaders, celebrities, and tourists seeking that once-in-a-lifetime kind of indulgence.

Whether it’s down to excellent marketing, the influence of hosting last year’s G20 Summit, or the post-pandemic bounce back, it’s hard to say just one reason, but the demand for vacations in Nusa Dua has increased by nearly 100% in 2023 so far.

The General Manager of The Nusa Dua, I Gusti Ngurah Ardita, has told reporters how hotel occupancy in the resort area increased by 97.33% compared to the same period in 2022.

Ardita explained, “The average occupancy rate during January-June 2023 reached 67.33%, which experienced a growth of 97.33% from the average occupancy rate in the same period in 2022, which only recorded a figure of 34.02%”.

@caitriona_b Visiting Bali this summer and looking for things to do? I’d highly recommend checking out this beach club in Nusa Dua, its absolutely stunning and such a hidden gem 🤍🌴🍹🥥 📍Canna Bali #indonesia #travel #indonesiafyp #traveltiktok #balitiktok #fyp #travellife #foryou #balilife #balifyp #traveltips #cheaptraveltips #budgettravel #balirecommendation #canggubali #canggu #balifood #balilife #balibeachclub #balipool #nusaduabali #balithingstodo #balirecommendation #balibucketlist ♬ Little Things x Gypsy Woman – L BEATS MASHUP – Jorja Smith

It must be taken into account that Indonesia’s borders did not open for international travel until February 2022, which does influence the hotel occupancy data – however, a nearly 100% increase in demand for travel to Nusa Dua is telling.

Travelers are clearly looking for luxurious destinations with access to five-star facilities and the pristine sandy beaches that Nusa Dua offers in droves.

@justanotherprgirl Enjoy the most unhinged voiceover of all time. 10/10 would recommend the Apurva Kempinski Bali in Nusa Dua though 🏝️🪷 #bali #nusadua #indonesia #apurvakempinskibali #traveltok #balitravel #balitrip #luxuryhotels #luxuryresort #fyp ♬ original sound – Just Another PR Girl

But it is not only demand for hotels in Nusa Dua that is increasing.

Nusa Dua is known as being a part of the island with fewer attractions and sights than areas like Ubud, meaning it is often overlooked by tourists who are seeking a more action-packed vacation.

Yet the tourist attractions in Nusa Dua itself are also increasing in popularity.

Ardita explained, “The Water Blow Peninsula Tourism Destination Are, which is one of the natural tourist spots, recorded tourist visits of 27,741 during that period, or grew 69% compared to visits in the same period of 2022 of 16,450 people.”

The Water Blow at Nusa Dua is an incredible sight. Furious waves come rolling into a tiny cove on the Nusa Dua Peninsula, resulting in a huge crash of water coming up and over the rocks.

It is an exhilarating sight and certainly not to be missed during a visit to Nusa Dua.

Nusa Dua may be synonymous with ultra-luxurious and exclusive hotels, but the world-class resort is more accessible than many travelers realize.

The premium destination is home to a great range of hotels, many of which offer great value for money.

Novotel Balu Nusa Dua, for example, has rooms available in the high season starting from USD 145. Similarly, Mercure Bali Nusa Dua offers tourists 4-star accommodation and service from USD 45 per night throughout the year.

With the demand for vacations in Nusa Dua increasing, those planning their next Bali adventure can be sure to find great deals popping up left, right, and center.

Tourists can look forward to total rest and relaxation in Nusa Dua.

The resort is home to some of the best spas on the island and, to the surprise of many, an incredible food scene.

Of course, with five-star resorts comes five-star dining. Foodies are spoilt for choice when it comes to fine dining in Nusa Dua, with the Koral Restaurant at Apurva Kempinski and Kayuputi at The St. Regis always featuring high on the foodie bucket list.

How much of the business is from MICE? I'm guessing that the Government and BUMNs account for a substantial portion of 'visitors'

@Exp, Very true, our food catering business caters to a lot of wealthy families and businesses from Jakarta and they don't care how much they spend. Btw, we are a sustainable source and eco friendly business, no plastic used unless absolutely necessary. All of our produce is grown on our natural fertilizer and non gmo seeds (heirloom) farm watered with our own well that is pump powered by solar electricity. Self sustaining.

@AM, Jakarta owned businesses for Jakarta gov. events. Keep it all in the family.

When I read the article about luxury resorts in Nusa Dua I could not help but think that it’s a propaganda piece which completely ignores reality. Basically a fantasy. One tiny area of Bali that is manicured and groomed to keep the small number of wealthy tourists isolated from the real Bali. They could be in any luxury beach hotel in the world, Carribean, Maldives, Thailand. Meanwhile, just a few kilometers away, garbage is washing out into the ocean from hundreds of villages which have no rubbish disposal infrastructure, broken roads, gridlocked traffic, filthy drains, smouldering piles of rubbish. The cost of basic food is rising, yet valuable rice growing land is disappearing daily under more commercial development. Everything is being sacrificed for tourism. We have seen what happens when it stops, yet nobody wants to think about that.

@Robert, Well said!

Nusa Dua was developed under Soeharto who used the police to force out the locals in order to build a number of resorts. Initially the Soeharto family had a lot of ownership interests in Nusa Dua resorts.

Nusa Dua resorts are in general controlled by rich and well connected Jakarta based businessmen. I can also mention that Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah, now controls Nusa Dua Hotel Beach & Spa.

Tourists should decide if they want to be associated with these characters.

@Wayan Bo, that's because Soeharto ruled with an iron fist until the meddling Americans got involved with their so-called democracy which is a total lie nowadays with the democrats in control. Indonesia needs another iron fisted ruler, crooked or not, at least get the country into daylight instead of the twilight zone.

@Exp, what do you have against His Royal Excellence Sultan of Brunei who is also friend of King Charles. Long live the monarchy.

Wayan Bo

@Exp, even for political neutral’s it’s remarkable that during Soeharto era, didn’t see any female wearing hijab in Bali or even in Jakarta. Bali bombings didn’t happen during Soeharto government. Also there wasn’t problems with tourists behavior. Bali was much nicer and safer at this times as it is today.

@Exp, Some tourists don't care about the history and some do. But most will stay there anyway.

Nusa Dua is the only place left in Bali without Russians, bogans, "jerry" and other trash people.

Firechef

@BaliDuck, Hope so, probably should feed them more of that poisoned local shit and get rid of them. Tell 'em it's local vodka. Death by suicide, lmfao!

@Firechef, They are too drunk and stupid to find Nusa Dua.

@BaliDuck, You sure about that? You just let the cat out of the bag, now they will move there!
