An Australian couple, identified as David Daynes and Tash Corbin, decided to transport their dog named Munchkin, who they previously adopted during their stay in Bali a few years ago, with a private jet.

After years of struggling to transport Munchkin to his new home in Australia, his owners’ efforts to welcome their new family member are about to pay off.

When the couple planned to bring Munchkin to Australia a few years ago, the couple was told that the process might take 6 to 8 weeks and cost around USD $7,132 (IDR 102 million). But the process had taken much longer than expected, as it took six years and cost a lot more than predicted.

“I stopped counting our expenses when they had reached USD $28,671 (IDR 410 million) 3 years ago. But money don’t matter to me, as long as I could bring him home before Christmas,” Corbin said. Both Daynes and Munchkin are currently in New Zealand as they wait for Australian authorities to grant the pet access into the country.

New Zealand

The couple had been struggling to bring Munchkin to Australia due to strict regulations from the Australian government. He had to pass several health checks during the quarantine.

“Munchkin is part of our family now, and I won’t change a thing. I love him and he’s a wonderful little dog,” Corbin concluded.

Why is this about money? If they’ve earned the ability to do it honestly and paid their taxes it’s no one else’s business. They might not have any children or the ability to. Good on them for doing what they want with their own money. No one should tell anyone else how to spend their own money unless asked, just like opinions.

Does anyone know which air charter company was used? It seems much cheaper than what I was quoted. I'd like to come to live in Bali. I'm interested to bring me, my rescued greyhound which th selfish human destroyed for th first three years of his life (now costing me thousands to rectify), and two rescued roosters and seven rescued hens which were left for dead by another selfish human. Sorry folks, had to word it that way after I saw th ridiculing comments of others towards animals. We can only learn to love others if we love our animals. Otherwise there is no love.

Surely Munchkins would have settled for a less extravagant trip home if the bulk of the money used on the private jet was diverted to some humanitarian project or even neglected animal welfare? Some people have more dollars than sense (pardon the pun) and lose the plot!

Must be nice to have that kind of money to waste on a dog with so many starving children on Bali. Shame on you.
