The Denpasar City Government received thousands of food aid packages from the South Korean Foundation on Monday (24/1).
Denpasar City Mayor, IGN Jayanegara, confirmed that he received a total of 2,550 food aid packages from the Head of the South Korean Knowledge Building Foundation, You Hojong, on Sunday.
Hojong explained that this program was also supported by the Dongan Church in South Korea to help residents who have been financially affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“This program was done in collaboration with the Dongan Church in Korea to help disabled residents, homeless children, senior citizens, unemployed widows, and locals who contracted Covid-19. This is a form of care from the South Korean people,” Hojong said.
Hojong also hopes that the relationship between South Korea and Bali will be stronger in the future.
Meanwhile, Jayanegara ensured that the food aid consisting of 1 liter of palm oil, 5 kgs of rice, 1 kg of sugar, and 5 noodle packs per package would be immediately distributed to the targets.
“On behalf of my people, I want to say thank you for your kindness as it is of great help. I guarantee that we will distribute these packages to the people in need,” Jayanegara concluded.
