The incident occurred when Dalang came to his farm, and began to work on his land on Wednesday morning. He became suspicious when he hit a solid material with his hoe that was still buried in the ground. As he kept on digging, Dalang was surprised when he noticed that it was actually a mortar bullet. After realizing the potential danger, he immediately reported the incident to nearby police. Shortly after, a specialized team from the police department arrived at the scene and evacuated the mortar to a secure location.

“When the special team arrived, the material was identified as a British mortar bullet that was 2 inches in diameter and 51 mm in length, and it was also confirmed as still active. Unfortunately they’re unable to find the year of its production.” Artadana added. The authorities managed to evacuate the mortar bullet to Kelanting Beach in Tabanan and then destroyed it to prevent an unexpected incident. “The mortar bullet was safely destroyed by the specialized team on Kelanting Beach to avoid any further potential dangers.” AKP Artadana concluded.
