Tour operators in Bali are advising travelers to plan their day trips ahead of time this high season.

Fast boat providers who offer transfer services from the main island of Bali to Nusa Penida and the Gili Islands are reminding travelers that there are only limited seats available on the boats every day.

The province of Bali is home to the main islands of Bali, Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan.

The outlying islands are proving to be as popular as ever with tourists who want to explore every inch of the province during their vacation.

The Gili Islands, comprised of Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air, is a part of North Lombok Regency of West Nusa Tenggara, but due to their close proximity to Bali, the Gili Islands are often visited by tourists as an add-on excursion to their trip and considered by many in passing as part of Bali.

The tour operator Bali Ferries has announced that demand for travel to the Gili Islands from Bali is soaring. The fast boat booking platform is advising tourists to book their tickets to the Gili Islands ahead of time to avoid disappointment.

Due to high demand and only limited crossings to the outlying islands from Sanur and Padang Bai, during this peak season, tourists may need to stay ahead of the game. 

Ticket prices for fast boat and ferry services from Bali to the Gili Islands and Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan vary due to availability and demand. Another benefit of booking in advance is that tourists are more likely to secure a cheaper ticket fare.

According to officials at Sanur Port, demand for transportation to Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan is rapidly increasing as Bali heads into the high season.

One harbor supervisor told reporters that three are upwards of 3,000 passengers passing through Sanur Harbor every day at the moment, with upwards of 4,000 people at the weekends. As the high season in Bali is only just getting underway, tourists can expect busy scenes at the island’s ports and harbors. 

In the last 12 months, huge renovations have been undertaken at Sanur Harbor to improve the travel experience for tourists. Travelers can now boar boats directly from the pier rather than having to wade into the water and scramble onto the boats.

Sanur Harbor remains the most popular departure point for tourists heading to the Gili Islands and Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan.

Sanur Harbor is just an hour’s drive from the heart of Canngu, the island’s most popular vacation destination this high season. Sanur Harbor is also just an hour from the heart of Ubud and a 40-minute drive from Kuta Beach. 

There are daily crossings to the Gili Islands and the Nusa Islands from Padang Bai; the port is often a little quieter, and if tickets are unavailable for fast boats leaving Sanur Harbor on your desired day of travel, be sure to check what is available from Padang Bai.
