Bali Police Give Scholarships To 9 Children Who Lost Their Parents To Covid-19

Officers from Gianyar Police Department have provided scholarship programs for children who lost their parents due to Covid-19.

The Head of Gianyar Police Department, AKBP Made Bayu Sutha Sartana confirmed that he collected donations from all the police officers across the Gianyar region to provide a scholarship program for a total of 9 orphans in Gianyar. Sartana said that he was thankful that the Gianyar police department was able to financially support orphans to continue their education at school.

“This donation was not from me, but from all of our officers in the Gianyar region so the orphans who lost their parents from Covid-19 can continue their education for another year. We really hope that this scholarship program will bring a positive impact for our these kids.” AKBP Sartana said during the event on Wednesday morning (17/11). He plans on raising funs once a month to help more children who have lost both parents.

“The cash support will be distributed to these orphans every month through the Village Finance Agency (LPD) and will be supervised by our officers to assure that this cash support is properly distributed.” AKBP Sartana added. Meanwhile the Head of Gianyar Educational Agency, Wayan Suradnya really appreciated this program and hopes that it will inspire other people and institutions to do the same thing.

Suradnya said that he plans to ask the Social Minister to support a total of 54 orphans in Gianyar who have lost their parents after contracting Covid-19.
