Bali Police Arrest Thieves Trying To Smuggle Stolen Motorbike At Padangbai Port

Badung Police Department arrested two suspects for smuggling stolen motorbikes from Bali to West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Rian Fauzi (31) from Sumbawa and Wibi Aridiyo Samudro (36) from Bali were arrested during their attempt to smuggle a stolen motorbike at Padangbai Port on Monday evening (1/2).

The two are now being detained at Badung Police Department along with the evidence. During interrogation, the suspects admitted to stealing at least 19 motorbikes in Bali.

The Head of Badung Criminal Investigation Bureau, AKP Laorens R. Heselo, explained that police began the investigation after receiving a report from a Russian man.

The man filed a report after he lost his Yamaha N-Max that was parked at a villa in North Kuta on Sunday afternoon (10/1).

According to investigations, an informant alerted officers of an attempt to smuggle a motorbike through Padangbai Port to transport the motorbike to West Nusa Tenggara.

During the interrogation, Rian admitted that he got the stolen motorbike from a man identified as Wibi. It didn’t take long for officers to locate and arrest Wibi on Jalan Pulau Misol, Gang 5C Number 2 West Denpasar.

The case is still under investigation to find accomplices.
