Bali Man Arrested For Illegal Drug Possession

A 30-year-old man named I Kadek Krisna Jaya was arrested from his house in Mengwi on Monday (1/11) for drug possession.

The man who has been living in Mengwitani Village, Badung was arrested for possessing several types of drugs on Monday afternoon around 5:45 pm. During the arrest, officers seized a total of 5 big packages and 41 small packages of marijuana weighing around 5kg that was stored inside the suspect’s bedroom. Apart from marijuana, officers also seized other types of drugs such as meth and ecstasy.

“The suspect was arrested along with several pieces of evidence such as 31 packages of meth weighing 10.20 grams, 251 ecstasy pills weighing 99.71 grams, a cell phone, and several other pieces of equipment from his house.” said a police officer on Wednesday (3/11). An investigation about the suspect began when the police received information regarding alleged narcotic distribution by the suspect.

During the interrogation, the suspect admitted that this illegal business is controlled by another suspect that is now considered a fugitive. “The suspect admitted that he received this drug supply from somebody who has been also making him run this business.” police added. Meanwhile the Director of Bali Narcotics Police, Kombes Pol Mohammad Khozin said that he hasn’t received any information in regards to the arrest.

“I haven’t received information about this case, but I’ll check it out soon.” Kombes Pol Khozin said.

Marijuana as well as magic mushrooms should be legalized and become additional symbols of Bali, not only because it’s legal in many parts of the world, it would for sure boost tourists interest to visit Bali. - Current laws are only producing paranoia situation, especially for tourists who consume marijuana in Bali.
