Bali International Air Show Confirmed To Return To Dazzle Tourists Once Again

Bali has confirmed that the Bali International Airshow will return to I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in 2027.

While the event is a little over two years away, organizations are excited to share the first details of what promises to be one of the most significant aviation events in Asia this decade.

The Bali International Airshow was last held in 2024 and was considered an overwhelming success. The event is a prominent summit for the aviation industry and for aviation enthusiasts amongst the general public and tourists visiting Bali.

The next Bali International Airshow will be held from September 8 to 11, 2027. PT Inaro Tujuh Belas will organize the event, which is fully supported by Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Ministry of Defense, and the Indonesian Air Force.

The Bali Air Show team has announced: “Bali International Airshow 2027 aims to serve as a strategic platform to elevate Indonesia’s role in the global aerospace sector.”

Organizers share, “Following the remarkable success of its inaugural edition in 2024, Bali International Airshow is set to return on 8–11 September 2027 as one of Southeast Asia’s most prominent aerospace business exhibitions.”

Adding “The airshow will bring together key players from both the civil and defense aviation sectors—including aircraft manufacturers, technology providers, MRO companies, and high-level policymakers from across the region and beyond.”

The CEO of PT Inaro Tujuh Belas, Andy Wismarsyah, told reporters, “It is a matter of pride for us to have successfully organized the Bali International Airshow. Previously, Indonesia had not organized it for almost 3 (three) decades, considering that the airshow has a very challenging level of complexity.”

He added, “The decision to schedule the Bali International Airshow was taken after considering many factors, including adjusting government directives regarding the alignment of the timing of defense and aerospace events, as well as the time needed to coordinate in detail with various parties, therefore, it was decided that the Bali International Airshow will return on September 8-11, 2027, of course, better and bigger, to ensure the best experience for all participants and visitors.”

While aviation enthusiasts planning trips to Bali will have to wait until 2027 to enjoy the big event, the aviation industry is increasingly having a bigger impact on Bali’s tourism sector.

One of the most popular bucket list activities in Bali right now is helicopter tours.

Helicopter tours were once reserved for only VVIP guests and travelers with no expense spared level budgets. In 2025, however, a 15-minute helicopter tour over Bali’s most famous landscapes is pretty affordable.

In fact, one of Bali’s most famous tourist attractions, the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces in Tabanan Regency, recently confirmed that it is opening a new helicopter landing pad specifically for VIP tour experiences.

And it’s not only Jatiluwih who are investing in partnerships with the aviation industry to create new travel experiences for tourists. In March 2024 Fly Bali, one of the island’s leading commercial helicopter tour providers confirmed that they had received their Air Operator Certificate (AOC) certification from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and are now actively working on bringing skydiving to Bali.

In a media interview, the founder of Fly Bali, Harriko Fesfusi, revealed, “This certification allows us to run our own operations without having to rely on other operators. One of the benefits is that in emergency conditions such as fires, we can move immediately without having to wait for helicopters from outside the area.”

He added, “In the past, we wanted to develop skydiving, but we couldn’t because we didn’t have an AOC. Now, with this certification, we have the opportunity to realize it.”
