A fatal accident Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai, South Kuta between motorists and trucks occurred on Monday (22/2). Due to the accident, a motorist named Arya Agung Dhananjaya (27) who was an employee of the Badung Fire and Rescue Service (Diskarmat) passed away on his way to the local hospital.
The Head of Denpasar Public Relation Officer, Iptu I Ketut Sukadi confirmed the incident and explained that Arya crashed the back of the truck that was driven by Kristian Rewa that morning.
“The motorbike and the truck were going in the same direction, it appears that Arya couldn’t control his motorbike when the truck hit the brake,” Iptu Sukadi said.
A bypasser immediately rushed him to the nearest hospital at Kasih Ibu Hospital Kedonganan, but unfortunately, he passed away on the way to the hospital due to a serious head injury.
Officers are currently investigating the incident by gathering information from several witnesses at the scene.
The Head of Fire and Rescue Service of Badung Regency (Diskermat), I Wayan Wirya said that he felt deep remorse to hear about the incident. Furthermore, all leaders and all staff of the Fire and Rescue Service are deeply sorry for the death of their fellow staff, Arya Agung Dananjaya.
Additionally, this incident added the fatality rate from traffic accidents in Bali. The officers warned people to be more careful and responsible while driving on the public road, they also remind the people to regularly check the vehicle’s condition before using it to prevent any more road accidents.
