Can we just legalize cannabis? What's the point of all that? Biggest economies in the world have already done that, it's bound to happen. Why arrest people and ruin their lives for weed?

@dezza, It's still lagging in Europe. For now, there's no country in the EU that allows for the legal production, commercialization and consumption of adult-use cannabis. However things are beginning to move in their legalization but not for a few more years.

Was corruption uncovered when previous police involvement was denied? Was the drug use so blatant that police action had to occur before it became obvious that foreign dopers were paying to avoid arrest? Foreign drug addicts should be caned and deported after serving long sentences. Hopefully police will do everything possible to safeguard Bali youth from falling prey to the evils of drug distribution by foreigners.

@J West, then just lock Bali for ever, no westerners use to travel to Iran or North Korea for holidays too.

Marijuana is in many countries across the world allowed and legal. Can’t bring tourists or foreigners to Bali and than arrest them because they are doing same things like they are doing it in there home countries legal or free of penalty, like consuming marijuana for example. If tourists are desired, if not than they have to get big warning before deciding to come to Indonesia, just tell them go better to Jamaica, Uruguay, The Netherlands, California, Czech Republic, Spain, ….

@Wayan Bo, legality for consumption, commercialization and production are still lagging in the EU, in Southeast Asia and other parts of Asia.
