The Coordinator of Badung Balawista, Marshello Aryafara confirmed that Raymond was rescued by several other surfers after being spotted going unconscious while playing in the surf on Berawa Beach, Canggu on Tuesday morning (24/8). “We thankfully managed to rescue the victim from the water when he was spotted losing consciousness by other surfers on Tuesday morning  around 9:00am.” Marshello said.

Prior to the incident, Raymond was surfing on Berawa Beach by himself. Few moments later, another surfer spotted him lying face down on top of his surfboard a ways away from the shore. Knowing that something wrong had happened, the witness immediately reported the incident to the officials from the Badung Balawista team. Shortly after, Balawista’s team began to evacuate the victim to shore and managed to revive Raymond after performing CPR at the scene.

The medical team from Hydro Medical arrived at the scene moments later to provide further assistance to Raymond as he started to regain consciousness. “The victim was transported by ambulance to the Garba Med Hospital that is located in Kerobokan to receive proper medical treatment.” Marshello concluded.
