Authorities have rescued a 36-year-old man named Antem Businov after he fell from a ravine in Tegalalang on Wednesday (2/2).
The Head of Emergency and Logistics of the Gianyar Regional Disaster Management (BPBD), I Gusti Ngurah Dibya, confirmed that Antem was rescued on Wednesday early morning after falling into a ravine 20-meters deep.
“We received a report from police officers that the man had fallen into a deep ravine at 2:00 am,” Dibya said.
Antem was intoxicated when he went to the location to urinate, then he slipped and fell into the ravine. The officials from BPBD immediately deployed the Quick Response Team as soon as they received the report at 6:52 am.
Antem managed to survive the incident with only minor injuries.
The evacuation went smoothly as the man could still walk with assistance from the officials.
“The man doesn’t exactly remember what happened because he was still intoxicated. He just suddenly realized that he was already at the bottom of Jasan River,” Dibya concluded.
