A 63-year-old man named Matthew Charles from the United States was found dead in a Bali villa on Thursday (2/9).
The Head of the Tegalalang Police Department, AKP I Ketut Sudita confirmed that Charles was dead when he was found by the villa’s staff on Thursday morning. “The witness found Charles sitting down in the kitchen when he came to clean the villa on Thursday morning around 9:00am.” AKP Sudita.
Prior to the incident, an employee named Ni Made Asa who had been working at the villa spotted Charles sitting down, unconscious on the floor when he came to clean up the property. Becoming suspicious, she immediately called the owner of the villa, Ni Luh Aryawati to check on his condition. “Prior to the incident, Aryawati said that she heard some weird noise from Charles’ room that morning.” AKP Sudita added.
Shortly after, the two of them reported the incident to Aryawati’s husband before finally calling the authorities from the Tegalalang police department. “When we arrived around 10:00am, our personnel and the medical team confirmed that Charles had died approximately 2 hours prior to their arrival.” AKP Sudita concluded. The police also found several medicines such as Ibuprofen and a flexpen around his body. The body was then transported to the Sanglah Hospital with an ambulance from Regional Disaster Management for further investigation.
