One of the sub-districts in Denpasar was appointed as a green zone area as it has recorded zero Covid-19 cases.
The Spokesman of the Denpasar Covid-19 Handling Task Force, I Dewa Gede Rai, confirmed that the East Denpasar sub-district was appointed as a green zone area after recording zero Covid-19 cases within the last few weeks.
“Officials have confirmed that all the villages in the East Denpasar Sub-District are free from Covid-19 transmission,” Gede Rai said on Sunday (9/1).
Officials still logged several Covid-19 cases in the three other Denpasar sub-districts: West, North, and South Denpasar.
“As of Sunday (9/1), South and West Denpasar have two active cases each while North Denpasar has three active cases. According to the central government, the whole city of Denpasar is still considered a yellow zone of Covid-19 transmission,” Gede Rai added.
The Denpasar city government plans to implement a new policy that regulates the utilization of the PeduliLindungi tracing app in all public facilities and shops across the city.
“I hope that this policy will help the authorities prevent a surge in Covid-19 cases, especially with the new variant. We will penalize offenders that neglect this policy by revoking their business permit if necessary,” Gede Rai concluded.
