A Man Attempted Suicide After Taking His Wife’s Life In Denpasar

A 32-year-old man has been found unconscious after taking his wife’s life on Friday evening (18/6).

The Head of the Badung Public Relation Police Officer, Iptu Oka Bawa confirmed that the woman has been murdered by her husband at their parents house that is located in Jagapati Village, Abiansemal Badung. “The incident occurred at their parent’s house on Friday evening around 10:10pm, causing the victim to suffer severe injuries which caused her death.” Iptu Oka said on Sunday (20/6).

According to the information from a witness who is also the father of the suspect, the incident started when the suspect and the victim had an argument at the carport at their house. Shortly after, the suspect began to assault the victim with a knife . The suspect’s mother, who was also there, saw the incident and was unable to stop it. After knowing his daughter in law was assaulted, the suspect’s father attempted to stop his son from running away, but unfortunately the suspect also assaulted his father and managed to escape from the house. 

The victim was immediately rushed to Mangusada Public Hospital by nearby villagers, but the victim was pronounced dead once she arrived at the hospital. After almost two hours of searching, the officers finally spotted the suspect near Jagapati landfill around 2:15am, laying unconscious on the river after attempting to commit suicide. The suspect was rushed to Mangusada Hospital before being referred to Sanglah Hospital due to his serious injury.“ Iptu Oka Bawa concluded.
