MotoGP is big business in Indonesia. As one of the nation’s favorite sports, when the MotoGP tour comes to Lombok, even those who aren’t avid observers of the sport are glued to their screens.
Bali-based MotoGP lovers are in for a treat this weekend as not one but two legends of the sport will be hosting a meet and greet at one of the island’s most loved beach clubs.
On Saturday, 13th July, MotoGP fans will be able to attend a meet and greet with Italian racers Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi in Canggu. The event is also serving as a welcome for the start of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, AKA the Indonesian GP, 2024.
Speaking to reports, the IndonesianGP 2024 MotoGP Chairman Troy Warokka said, “The main purpose of this event is to introduce the third season of IndonesianGP 2024.”
The plans are already in place, and MotoGP fans will want to be part of the action.
The meet and greet event will be held at Mari Beach Club in Canggu, and doors will open for the MotoGP event at 4 pm – the beach club will be open from midday as per usual.
Those who already hold tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP event in Lombok will be permitted free entry to the MotoGP Meet and Greet event.
The Mandalika MotoGP event will be hosted on the neighboring island of Lombok on the 27th – 29th of September 2024.
For those who just wish to attend the meet and greet, tickets are just IDR 150,000 and can be arranged on the door and are redeemable for drinks at the beach club bar.
The event will also include live music, DJs, and a MotoGP fan zone for like-minded lovers of the sport to gather and discuss how they think the season will play out.
Those who are unable to make it to the Mari Beach Club still have a chance to catch a glimpse of Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi during their visit to Bali. The duo will be taking part in the MotoGP parade ride starting at The Meru in Sanur.
The event will also see motorcycle communities from across Bali gather at the hotel for a more informal hangout and meet-up.
The President Director of the tourism development company InJourney, Dony Oskaria, said that he and his teams are working to ensure that the Mandalika MotoGP event is bigger and better than ever in 2024, and the meet and greet this weekend, too.
He explained, “We really need close collaboration between stakeholders as well as active participation from the community. With the support of and cooperation of all parties, we are sure this event will be a great success and provide an unforgettable experience for all MotoGP fans.”
“Let’s together make this event a success and show that Indonesia is able to hold a world-class event spectacularly.”
=The President Director of Pertamina, the lead sponsor of the Indonesian MotoGp, Nicke Widaywati, told reporters, “we hope that together the Petamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024 sill take place better and can have a multiple effect on the national economy, especially for the people of Nusa Tenggara Barat.”
Saturday’s meet and greet at Mari Beach Club is a rare and exciting opportunity for MotoGP fans to interact with their heroes. Mari Beach Club can be found on Jalan Pantai Batu Belig in the heart of Canggu and is open daily from 12 pm.
Entry to the beach club is technically free, though there is a minimum spend for each of the tables, lounge areas, and hangout spots.
The minimum spend at the Sunset Stairs is IDR 500,000 per person, with prices increasingly incrementally reaching the VIP Bungalows, which can host up to twelve people for a minimum spend of IDR 8,000,000.

Just come to my area (south Denpasar), plenty of "MotoGP" riders around that you can "meet and greet". Any time good, these morons are always out burning fuel and keeping people awake -- up and down the road.
