A 25-year-old Russian named Andrey Nikonov has been arrested for attempting to sell broken phones to locals in Bali.
The Head of the Public Relations Office for Badung Police Department, Iptu I Ketut Sudana, confirmed that the suspect was arrested after selling a broken iPhone to a Bali resident named IB Eka (age 37).
Sudana explained that the victim was tempted to buy the cellphone after seeing an advertisement on the internet. “The victim decided to buy the iPhone 12 Pro Max after seeing a social media post from the suspect, saying that he would sell his iPhone for USD $210 (IDR 3 million),” Iptu Sudana said on Wednesday (27/4).
She contacted the suspect, and they agreed to meet on Jalan Raya Petitenget, Kerobokan for the transaction. When the victim arrived home, he realized that the cellphone was broken and could not operate.
The victim immediately filed a report to the police. The police asked the victim to call the suspect, pretending to buy another cellphone from him, and they agreed to meet at the same place on Tuesday afternoon (26/4).
When the suspect arrived, the officers immediately arrested him along with the evidence.
“The suspect has been detained along with the two cellphones as the investigation is still underway,” Iptu Sudana concluded.

Selling a used iPhone online (2 years old) for that much is pretty much a red flag.

They should go both to iPhone service store or iPhone specialist to check item before buying or selling it. -Perhaps price for that model was price fore broken iPhone. - Have they do a seller buyer contract.
