Bali Governor I Wayan Koster asked the central government to consider implementing the zero quarantine policy for foreign visitors earlier than scheduled.
On Tuesday (1/3), Koster had a virtual meeting with the Head of Bali Police Department, the Head of Tourism Association, the Head of Immigration, and the Deputy Chief of the Maritime and Investment Ministry.
They discussed the preparation of Bali to receive tourists under the zero quarantine policy, and Koster proposed that they start its implementation earlier than March 14. “I propose that the central government implement the zero quarantine policy for international travelers earlier, on March 7,” Koster said.
He suggested that they resume the visa on arrival policy on the same day of this implementation, so travelers will easily gain access to the island.
Koster also asked that the government revoke the entry test policy for cabin crew as they have already tested negative from Covid-19 prior to their departure.
Meanwhile, he committed to optimize the vaccination and booster programs starting March 5. “We have committed to optimizing our vaccine booster program, Covid-19 testing program, and Covid protocol implementation this month,” Koster concluded.
However, the proposals made during this meeting will only be submitted to the Coordinator of Maritime and Investment Minsitry, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, at the upcoming final session on Friday (4/3).

Please bring back the Visa on arrival which would make travel to Bali sooooooo much easier. Neither I nor my husband want to go through all the many steps that are currently required to enter Bali. We feel those steps are unnecessary and, quite honestly, ridiculous.

Not sure I understand the need to hold on to vaccine requirements, it seems clear that omicron infects vaxxed and unvaxxed alike. Indonesia currently has north of 90% with antibodies. Testing seems to be the most important, if you test negative whether vaxxed or not, you should be allowed to visit. Seems simple.

It is too difficult to get the Tourist Visa with so many requirements let alone the expense to obtain...go back to Visa on Arrival at the airport and pay a minimum fee like it was years ago. Its a real put off for tourists having to fill out so many forms let alone get a sponsor ....

I went to Bali May of 2021 and came back to the States in August, on a business visa to be with my husband. I was not vaccinated and quarantined for 7 days in Jakarta. I still till this day have never tested positive for covid. Would like to go back to see my family but now you have to be vaccinated and honestly I am scared to death of the jab. My heart is broken.
