A 27-year-old man named Bayung Oktaviani from Lumajang, East Java has been arrested after stealing a motorbike from a Russian national on Tuesday (13/7).
The Head of the North Kuta Criminal Investigation Bureau, Iptu Made Purwantara confirmed that the suspect was arrested when he attempted to sell the stolen motorbike in Denpasar. “The suspect was arrested without resistance when he attempted to sell the stolen motorbike near the Ubung bus station on Tuesday evening (13/7) around 7:00pm.” Iptu Purwantara said on Thursday (15/7).
According to information from the victim named Dimitrii Salikop, the incident occured when Dimitrii parked his rented Yamaha Nmax in front of his villa that is located on Jalan Raya Batu Mejan, Canggu North Kuta on Tuesday afternoon around 2:30pm. A few minutes later, when Dimitrii planned to ride the motorbike he noticed that it was gone.” Shortly after, he called the owner of the motorbike rental shop to inform them about the incident.
Becoming panicked, The shop owner filed a report to the North Kuta Police Department. After collecting some information, the officers were informed that the suspect planned to sell the stolen motorbike near the Ubung bus station in Denpasar. With the cooperation from the Bali Motorbike Rental Association, the suspect was arrested on the same day. “The suspect has been detained and the investigation to find his syndicate of operation is still underway.” Iptu Purwantara concluded.

@Wayan Bo, the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. The only autonomous province of Banda Aceh that practices the sharia law. So his crime of opportunity deserves to be thrown in the lion's den??
