Bali Government Will Use Covid Breath Test Method In Airports

The Bali provincial government has planned to use Genose as one of the testing methods apart from the swab and rapid antigen test in the Bali Ngurah Rai airport.

Bali Vice Government, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace) said that they will start the use of Genose in April 2021. “We agreed to start implementing the Genose test as one of the entry requirements in our airports apart from the swab and rapid antigen test in near future” Cok Ace said on Monday (22/3). Genose is a Covid-19 testing method that was invented by the Indonesian people to detect the corona virus by blowing air into a bag that will then be tested with special equipment.

Cok Ace hopes that the implementation of the Genose test will attract more domestic visitors as it will significantly reduce the testing costs with this cheap testing method. “Angkasa Pura I Ltd is the company who runs the airport and plans to provide at least 438,546 of the Genose bags to 15 different airports across the nation each month” Cok Ace added. He also explained that the Genose test will be targeted to the visitors who have already received the Covid-19 vaccine prior their departure.

Meanwhile Cok Ace has not explained the costs of the Genose test that will be implemented in the Bali airports. During the test process that is planned to start in April 2021, it will only involve certain people who work with the airport such as airport staff, ground handling staff and airline staff. “The whole process of the Genose C-19 test will take around 20 to 30 minutes for each person, and it will be done by our medical staff that is placed in the airport facility” Cok Ace concluded.
