In the last few days, safety operations have intensified as Bali looks to control the spread of COVID-19. Bangli Regional Government decided to rapid antigen test all the people found without a face mask in public areas.
As a result, ten mask policy violaters were caught and immediately asked to take a rapid antigen test on the spot.
With the ongoing partial lockdown and prevention protocols currently enforced in Bali, authorities are finding that many people are still negligent to protocols, namely mask-wearing.
As cases continue to surge in most areas of Bali, the Bangli Regional Government decided to take it one step further in the fight against the pandemic.
An operation was led by the Head of Bangli Military Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Gede Putu Suwardana, in cooperation with several other institutions including Bangli Police Department, Public Civil Service, Health Agency and Transportation Agency.
During the operation, authorities found 10 violators while inspecting Kidul Fresh Market Bangli on Saturday (6/2).
“After we tested all of them, thankfully they showed negative results,” said Suwardana on Sunday (7/2).
He added that the operation called Yustisi Operation will be regularly implemented in the Bangli area in order to prevent the region from turning into a red zone.
“We’ll be more focused on inspecting the places that could potentially create a crowd, such as fresh markets. This program was initiated to educate more people about health and safety measures so we can end this pandemic as soon as possible” Suwardana concluded.
