A gas station located on Jalan Raya Pelabuhan Benoa in Denpasar has been robbed by a weaponized perpetrator on Thursday evening (28/1).
According to CCTV footage, the incident occurred as the suspect approached the location on a motorbike without a license plate just before 8pm.
As employee Ni Putu Maharani (23) finished loading his fuel tank, he pulled out a sword and threatened Maharani to give him the money. In panic, she toppled over and he grabbed the moneybag containing USD 712 (IDR 10 million).
Police investigation continues as the perpetrator has not yet been identified. The Head of KP3 Benoa Port Police, Kompol Abdus Salim, suggests that the perpetrator is a professional as he concealed his identity by wearing a full face helmet, mask, jacket and removing his license plate.
A similar incident occurred at the same gas station months earlier as a perpetrator threatened female employees on duty with an imitation firearm.
