Police officers have shot two men, Agus Suginyo and Wahyu Cadra Aditya, as they made an attempt to smuggle stolen motorbikes at Gilimanuk Port on Sunday (29/11).

The Head of Denpasar Police Department, Kompol I Dewa Putu Anom Danujaya, explained that the officers began the operation after receiving a report from one of the victims.
Samsul had filed a report after losing his registered motorbike (DK 3006 ACL) on Friday (27/11) at 12:30 pm on Jalan Tukad Yeh Penet Number 16, South Denpasar.

“The incident occured when the victim arrived at the location for a drop off. After leaving his motorbike unattended, he witnessed a stranger steal it and flee from the scene. He immediately visited the Police Station to file a report” said Danujaya during an interview on Tuesday (01/12).
According to the investigation, the officers received information that the perpetrators were located at Gilimanuk Port to smuggle the motorbike to Java.
With the cooperation of Gilimanuk KP3 Police Department, the officers spotted two suspicious men with motorbikes on Sunday (29/11) at 3:00am by the docks. When the perpetrators saw officers approaching, they immediately ran. Consequently, the officers fired shots at their legs to stop them.
They two men were arrested and admitted to stealing six motorbikes from different locations in Bali. “We seized two stolen motorbikes when we arrested them. They are being detained at Denpasar Police Department for further interrogation” Danujaya concluded.
