The Anti Terrorism Special Force 88 (Densus 88) has detained 25 alleged terrorist group members in Bali.
An official from the police department confirmed that 25 alleged members of a terrorist group called Indonesia Islamic Country (NII) were detained in Bali since 2021.
They also detained other members in several Indonesian provinces, such as South Tangerang and West Sumatra.
After 6 months of being urged by officials, all the 25 alleged terrorist group members have finally sworn allegiance to the Indonesian ideology called Pancasila. This means Unity In Differences.
“They swore allegiance to our official ideology at the Denpasar Police Department Office on Saturday (23/4). It was witnessed by officials from the Anti-Terrorism Special Force and the Head of Denpasar Police Department Office,” said the police on Sunday (24/4).
The activity was also attended by officials from Islamic organizations such as Nadhlatul Ulama and Gerakan Pemuda Ansor.
The police explained that several alleged group members of NII are still in Bali, so the authority will keep conducting investigations as part of the terrorism anticipation program.
