Indonesia’s Tourism Board, Wonderful Indonesia, has just launched a new itinerary titled ‘Bajo, Bali, Beyond Beautiful’.
The multi-stop journey sees tourists visit Labuan Bajo, Bali, and take adventures to destinations beyond their wildest imaginations.

The new ‘wonderful journey’ is an itinerary created in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia and House of Travel New Zealand.
Wonderful Indonesia shares “From meeting the ancient Komodo dragons to finding serenity in a sacred Melukat Ceremony, every corner whispers stories of nature, culture, and timeless beauty.”
The tour is primarily focused on the must-visit tourism gems of East Nusa Tenggara Province, but also features two very special stop-offs on Bali. This is all part of a wider mission to promote lesser-visited destinations across Indonesia to Bali-loving tourists.
The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism has long been working to promote the ‘five new Balis’, also known as the five super priority destinations. These are hotspots around Indonesia that leaders will be investing in developing into more established and internationally esteemed destinations.
The five super priority destinations in Indonesia are Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Borobudur in Central Java, Mandalika in Lombok, Likupang in North Sulawesi, and Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, also known as Flores.
Labuan Bajo is the gateway to Komodo National Park and is home to some of the most magical beaches in all of Indonesia. The new itinerary suggests tourist start their adventure in Labuan Bajo. It is possible for tourists to take a short domestic flight from Denpasar to Labuan Bajo.
Flights operate up to six times daily. It is also possible to fly to Labuan Bajo domestically from Jakarta, Lombok, Surabaya, Kupang, and more. In terms of international connectivity, there are regular flights from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to Labuan Bajo, offering tourist plenty of options to start their adventure off with ease.
The ‘Bajo, Bali, Beyond Beautiful’ itinerary features seven stop-offs, each more impressive than the last. Five stops in East Nusa Tenggara Province, all close to Labuan Bajo, and two iconic stops in central Bali. Of course, this itinerary is just for inspiration, and tourists can add on any number of exceptional stops along the way.
The Bajo, Bali, Beyond Beautiful itinerary first stops at Sebayur Island, which is part of the Komodo National Park area. The waters surrounding Sebayur Island are incredibly biodiverse, making it a magical spot for snorkelling, scuba diving, and free diving. The next stops are all within Komodo National Park too, Taka Makassar, to Padar Island, to Pink Beach, and Rinca Island.

For the most magical and immersive experience of Labuan Bajo, as highlighted by the Bajo, Bali, Beyond Beautiful itinerary, is to book a liveaboard tour. These experiences are second to none and offer guests the chance to live aboard a traditional Indonesian Phinisi ship.
Tourists get to feel like an ancient Indonesian ocean-faring explorer while taking in the magnificence of coastal vistas and island panoramas. Padar Island and Pink Beach are by far the most famous visits in East Nusa Tenggara, and Rinca Island is home to the incredible Komodo dragons.

Hopping over to the Bali segment of the tour is as easy as can be. The flight time is just 1 hour and 15 minutes.
As part of the Bajo, Bali, Beyond Beautiful itinerary, suggested stop-offs are Taman Beji Griya Waterfall and Saraswati Temple in Ubud. Taman Beji Griya Waterfall is an overlooked mystical wonder, located just 13km from central Ubud.

Taman Beji Griya Waterfall offers tourists the chance to take part in a traditional Balinese water purification ceremony known as a melukat.
Tourists most famously take part in this tradition at Tirta Empul Temple just outside of Ubud, yet at Taman Beji Griya Waterfall, which sees far fewer tourists, the experience is more intimate and offers tourists the chance to experience the blessing through both the waterfall and the temple setting.
