Bali Police have confirmed the successful arrest of two men in connection with a shooting in Canggu on Saturday night.
The confirmation of the arrest was announced by Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, in Jembrana, Bali on 17th June 2025.

The confirmation of the arrest of two men in connection with a fatal shooting in Canggu on Saturday, 14th June, comes just 24 hours after Bali Police had to issue clarifying statements after it was announced to the media that a suspect had been apprehended.
During his press speech, Police Chief General Prabowo told reporters, “Regarding the shooting involving Australian citizens, I have received a report from the Bali Police Chief. One suspect has been secured in Jakarta, and another is on the way from overseas.”
The Police Chief did not disclose further details, such as the identities, motives, or timelines of the arrests. He stated that the Bali Regional Police will hold a full briefing soon.
Prabowo added “A more detailed statement will be released by Bali Police. What I can say for now is that this case was solved through cooperation between our Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim), Immigration, and the Australian Federal Police (AFP).”
A police investigation remains underway in Canggu following the shooting that killed Zivan Radmanovic, 32, and injured Sanar Ghanim, 35. Both men are believed to have been staying in Bali for an extended period and both are known to Australian law enforcement. Ghanim is reported to have served time in prison and Radmanovic had 175 court appearances to his name on a range of charges.
While the shooting is believed to be isolated, targeted, and in connection with organized crime, the events of Saturday night have left tourists and local community members in Bali in shock. Bali Senator Wayan Puspa Negara spoke to the media to call for increased security around the island’s most busy resort areas to help increase a sense of safety for visits.
Negara shared “To the Bali Regional Police, I ask you to immediately reactivate the Tourism Police that had been on standby patrols every time at the destination before the COVID pandemic. Where the performance of Tourism Police is highly respected by tourists and other criminal [activity is kept] to a minimum.”
In the coming days, tourists can expect to see an increased police and security presence throughout Canggu and the surrounding villages as well as other leading vacation resorts inlacing Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak.
As Bali Police continue to piece together the events of Saturday night, it has been confirmed that the survivor of the shooting, Ghanim, has been released from the hospital.
In a statement issued late on Monday by the Head of Public Relations of Bali Police, Senior Commissioner Ariasandy, it was revealed that ballistics testing is also being carried out at the scene. Police have recovered 17 bullet casings, 55 bullet fragments, and two intact projectiles.

Senior Commissioner Ariasandy told reporters that the results of the ballistics testing “are in the hands of the expert teams. Both the Labor, Forensic, and Biddokkes Polda Bali teams conducted an autopsy on the victim. The data is still with them and the data is for the investigator’s consumption.”
He added, “The survivor has been discharged from the hospital under the supervision and handling of the National Police. We are interested in asking the person concerned for information as a witness.”

More details regarding the events and the arrests are anticipated to be announced in a press conference by the Bali Regional Police in the coming days.
Over the weekend In initial media statements, Bali Police Inspector Adityajaya reported a select series of details about the events as they unfolded based on witness reports, noting “The two (suspected) perpetrators had strong Australian accents.”

Adding “The witness saw through the gap in the door a man on a small automatic motorbike wearing a green online motorcycle taxi jacket, a dark helmet and wearing a mask or face covering with a thick Australian language or accent saying ‘I can’t start my bike.”
