Tourists and travellers arriving and departing from Bali Airport will see more officers out on patrol.
Bali Police and Bali Airport have confirmed that more officers are to be deployed on around-the-clock patrols to help prioritise public safety and comfort.

Bali Airport is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and every day of the year except for the Balinese holy day of Nyepi. Bali is also on track to welcome a record-breaking number of international tourists by the end of 2025.
Bali Airport sees, on average, between 30,000 and 40,000 passengers a day, which can easily peak to over 62,000 passengers during the high season and over school and religious holidays.
Bali Airport is on a mission to continuously level up its services and overall quality for tourists. Naturally, security and safety are a major focus point for Bali Airport management.
To ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Area Police officers carry out standard security checks across the airport complex every day. From now on, increased night patrols will be deployed throughout the airport terminals to ensure that nighttime is just as well covered as the day.
Speaking to reporters, Airport Area Police Gusti Ngurah Rai, Ipda I Gede Suka Artana, explained, “Our members in the field who patrol around in addition to monitoring the situation also provide assistance to the community or tourists who need information.”
The patrol team targets strategic and burglar-prone points, such as departure and arrival terminals, vehicle parking, pick-up lanes, and customer service.
IPDA Artana confirmed that these increased patrols are part of an effort to strengthen and improve the presence of uniformed police within the community.
He noted, “We are here to ensure the safety and comfort of airport service users, especially newly arrived tourists. This is also part of the preventive measures to prevent the disruption of [public peace and security.”
He concluded, “We urge the public and pick-up people not to park carelessly, and take advantage of the zones that have been provided by the airport to avoid traffic jams.”
The timing of the increased patrols comes as Bali Airport sees passenger arrivals continue to grow. The peak of the high summer season typically falls at the end of June and into July, but arrivals show little sign of slowing down as August rolls on.
According to the General Manager of Airport, I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, Bali Airport served 2.3 million passengers in July 2025 alone, making July the busiest month so far.

Speaking to reporters, Shahab shared, “Domestic route passengers are served as many as 891,466 people or 38 percent of the total passengers, and the remaining 62 percent is dominated by international passengers, which is 1,464,677 people.”
He added, “We see a positive trend at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport because July is still in the school holiday and summer vacation period. The demand of the public to vacation in Bali is still very high.”

Noting ”If compared to other long holiday periods, such as during the new year or Eid holiday 2025, the range is around 62 thousand to 72 thousand passengers per day, in July, the average exceeds 76 thousand passengers per day. This is the highest daily average throughout the year 2025.”
Shahab reiterated his and his team’s commitment to ensuring that Bali Airport remains a safe, comfortable, accessible, and inclusive space for passengers and staff.

He concluded, “In providing services, of course, we often encounter various challenges. But we keep trying to give the best. As a form of our responsibility to service users, we are fully committed to continuing to improve the quality of service, safety, and flight safety.”

It's not open 24hrs a day they don't let you go in until 4am and counters not manned until 4.30 am well this week anyway. Can these police patrols get rid of these Mafia thugs hawking the pick up area as you walk out if they are not official airport employees wich they aren't these are the ones police need to expel they have no business being there for past 30 years

What they need to do is to clean up the arrival area, so that travellers can walk to their transport in peace and harmony without having to fight the huge crowd of drivers offering their service.
Many of these are extremely aggressive, smoke kretek in your face, show fake ID's and have no concept of personal space.
Would it be possible to have arrival organized like Changi, Singapore? Maybe an impossible ask as those managing this chaos never visited outside Indonesia?
