Indonesian Tourism Minister, Sandiaga Uno has received mass support from the Law and Human Rights Minister to distribute vaccines to at least 2 million people in Bali by July 2021.
Sandiaga announced this news during a meeting with Bali Vice Governor, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati along with the Head of Bali Tourism Agency and Bali Tourism Board Management on Monday (15/3).
“Bali is still the top priority from the central government in vaccine distribution, in fact, I just received good news from Indonesian Law and Human Rights Minister, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan that he targeted to vaccinate half of Bali population by July 2021,” Sandiaga said.
He explained that the central government has prepared the number of vaccines needed for this program. “
Thankfully, the government has already provided large amounts of vaccines for Bali people, and now we need to add more medical staff before running the program. I’ve discussed this with Udayana University, Military and Police Officers to solve this problem” Sandiaga added.
He hopes that Bali residents continue complying with the prevention protocols to handle this pandemic together.
“This will bring hope for people to bring back tourism and revive the economy from the crisis” Sandiaga concluded.
Meanwhile, Sandiaga also noted that Luhut plans to appoint other areas as green zones such as Nusa Penida and Sanur. Additionally, 177 tourism villages across Bali are also expected to be a healthy tourism environment, as Sandiaga claimed that those villages have been complying with the strict implementation of prevention protocols while doing their daily activities.

That's great news to vaccinate two million people by July. That is only 19,000 vaccinations per day. That is achievable. So on these estimates. The entire population of Bali could be easily vaccinated by November 21. I've got my bag packed.
