Bali used to be a tropical paradise. I could sit on Legian beach with not another soul in site. I could walk the length of Jalan Legian at night, and not see another person. Hard to believe huh? Greed, Pollution, trash, noise and narcissists destroyed Bali.
-It's game over.

A lot of extreme wealth has been generated over the years from tourism related activities.
I spotted a brand new Mercedes with price tag 7 Milyar (!) roaming the small roads in central Denpasar!
Tabanan authorities want to convert entire length of coastal zone into tourist zone. Could it be because rice fields worth 3Juta/area can then be sold for 300-500 Juta/area or more?

This hotel has been here for eons. It has just had a revamp after being closed for covid. Have they paid for this ad?

Correct. A revamp.
Huge whiteish painted concrete buildings with flat roofs located on a very steep hillside: A real eyesore if you ask me. Some smaller wood huts located on another steep hillside: more fitting considering the location.
However, I'm against placing buildings on steep hillsides as integrity strongly depends on very deep and expensive foundation work. Access is also tiresome.
