The local community and tourists in Bali are invited to attend the Sanur Village Festival this weekend. The annual event will be hosted from 7th to 9th November and will be a three-day celebration of the best of Balinese culture at the iconic Mertasari Beach. To make things even more inclusive and accessible, the whole event program is free to enter for all!

Event highlights include an Ngleawar Competition as well as fashion shows, live music performances, and cultural parades. There will also be barista competitions, a fun run, and the chance for festival goers to win a huge range of high-value prizes.

The Chairman of the Sanur Development Foundation (YPS), Ida Bagus Gede Sidharta Purta, told reporters that the annual festival is one of the highlights of the year for the community in Sanur.

He shared, “The goal of this event is for people to come and enjoy the Sanur Festival while also getting to know other destinations in the area.” The Sanur Village Festival is also known as SanFest.

The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Guna Dusan’, which was chosen to convey the profound dedication to knowledge by the Sanur community. This knowledge and wisdom will be showcased throughout the event through music, culinary arts, culture, and sustainable lifestyle practices, as well as workshops.

The festival will be celebrating its 18th year, and Putra noted that the event’s theme is hoped to inspire the community to continue growing the event into the future. He told reporters, “Hopefully these values will bring benefit and prosperity to the people of Sanur and Bali in general.”

The event team is preparing to welcome 50,000 people over the three-day event. In years gone by, the Sanur Village Festival has been hosted over 6-7 days, and organisers hope that the 2025 format will allow for a highly concentrated event filled with diverse and meaningful experiences for attendees.

The musical talent in Bali is at a high level, and the Sanur Village Festival will welcome to the stage both rock and blues bands who will perform international hits and famed regional melodies as well as original tracks.

Those unable to be in Sanur this weekend will be missing out on a whole heap of fun, but there is no reason to feel sad for long.

Sanur is one of Bali’s hottest tourism destinations and welcomes millions of tourists every year. As soon as the Sanur Village Festival is complete, the countdown to Christmas and the New Year will get underway. Preparations for the festive season are getting into swing in Sanur.

Sanur Harbor in Bali

Not only is Sanur a popular vacation destination in its own right, but it is also the gateway to the Nusa Islands. The most popular route for tourists wishing to travel from Bali to Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan is via Sanur Harbour.

The Sanur Port Authority and Harbormaster Office have confirmed that teams are taking anticipatory measures to manage the surge in passengers during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays.

Tourists planning on traveling through Sanur to the Nusa Islands, Gili Islands, and Lombok this festive season are advised to book fast boat and ferry tickets as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment.
