A 40-year-old man named Oleg Chadin from Russia has been detained after causing a disturbance in a restaurant in Badung.
The Head of the Bali Law and Human Rights Minister, Jamaruli Manihuruk confirmed that Chadin was detained by an authority from the Immigration office on Tuesday (31/8) after disturbing the peace at the Uma Warung Asri Restaurant that is located in Werdhi Buana village, Mengwi Badung. “After previously raging and causing a problem in one of the restaurants in Badung, Chadin who is allegedly suffering from depression was detained by the Civil Service Officer before being handed over to immigration officers.” Jamaruli said on Wednesday (1/9).
Chadin was previously reported by local people in Mengwi after losing control over his emotions, and started shouting in the Warung Uma restaurant. Once he was detained by the Civil Service officers, Chadin was transported to the Mangusada Hospital in Denpasar in order to receive medical attention by a doctor. “After two days of treatment at the Mangusada Hospital, Chadin was transported to the Immigration detention house on Jalan Raya Uluwatu Number 108, Jimbaran North Kuta on Tuesday.” Jamaruli added.
Jamaruli decided to detain Chadin as he violated the Regional Regulation Number 7 Year 2016 about Public Order and he will be fined with detention and deportation by Immigration. Chadin was known to arrive in Bali in December 2020 using a Visit Residence Permit and was scheduled to depart from Bali on October 6th 2021. “Chadin has been detained while waiting for his return ticket to continue the deportation process.” Jamaruli concluded. He also warned other expats who have been staying in Bali to always comply with the government’s regulation to avoid any consequences that they might receive as offenders.

Bali was generous allowing the humanitarian visa. The conditions and requirements for extension of same no longer exist. Bali is not a dumping ground for the western worlds flotsam.
